Rob and his wife are raising a family of their own in Hudson County, so he understands the challenges families are facing each day in these unprecedented times.
As New Jersey’s only Hispanic representative in Congress, Rob has been on the frontlines doing the work in Congress to create solutions for today and for a brighter and better tomorrow. Rob’s commitment to serving the public is driven by his belief in giving back to our communities and taking care of our neighbors.
Upon his arrival in Washington, Rob was elected by his peers to serve as Freshman Representative on the House Democrats’ Steering and Policy Committee, which works with House Democratic leadership to set policy priorities. Rob also was appointed to serve as Regional Whip for the House Democratic Caucus, a post in which he assists in advancing Democrats’ legislative priorities.
Since he was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022 Rob has worked to bring millions of dollars in federal funding back home to our district and has quickly taken on a leadership role while serving as Regional Whip for the House Democratic Caucus, a position in which he assists in advancing Democrats’ legislative priorities.
Rob is fighting every day to:
- create opportunities for working families
- ensure organized labor continues to have a voice
- address climate change
- protect reproductive choices
- stand against hateful rhetoric and discriminatory practices everywhere
